Use the site and the API freely; please read the limits below before relying on a date for something important.

Information, not advice

Everything here is provided as is, for general information. Public holidays are set by governments and can be added, moved or cancelled at short notice; lunar holidays are often confirmed only a day or two ahead; and regional holidays are not included. Before booking travel, scheduling staff, calculating pay or meeting a legal deadline, check the official source linked on each country page. Sunrise, sunset and moon times are calculated for a flat horizon and are not suitable for navigation or safety-critical use.

The API and MCP server

You may call the API and MCP server from personal and commercial projects without a key. Keep to 60 requests a minute per IP address, cache answers that do not change (a year of holidays changes rarely), and do not try to overload or disrupt the service. We may block traffic that harms the service for others, and we may change or retire endpoints; we will try to keep the documented fields stable.

Content and licences

• History lists (events, births, deaths, observances) are text from Wikipedia, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. You may reuse them under that licence, with attribution to Wikipedia and the same licence for your adaptation.
• Names and coordinates of cities come from Wikidata and are in the public domain (CC0).
• The calculated facts the API returns — dates, week numbers, holiday status, astronomy — may be reused freely; a link back is appreciated, not required.
• The rest of the site's text and design is ours; quote it briefly with a link, but please do not republish whole pages.

No warranty, limited liability

We do our best to keep the site correct and available but make no promise that it is error-free or always online. Where the law permits, any liability for loss connected with using the site or the API — including plans made around a holiday date or a time shown here — is excluded.
