Apple, Google, and Facebook have stood the test of time—so far. But will the tech titans really live forever?

Yes, according to Steve Wozniak.

The Apple co-founder believes all three entities will grow even more powerful over the next six decades.

Apple will be around for a long time, like IBM,” Woz told USA Today in a recent interview, citing the New York-based company founded by Charles Ranlett Flint in 1911.

“Look at Apple’s cash [$246.1 billion],” he continued. “It can invest in anything. It would be ridiculous to not expect them to be around (in 2075). The same goes for Google and Facebook.”

From a couple of friends in a Los Altos garage to a multi-billion-dollar Silicon Valley enterprise, Apple has come a long way from 1976 and the $700 Apple-1 desktop computer.

As most young entrepreneurs do, the two Steves (Wozniak and the late Jobs) assumed their business would last forever. Maybe Woz really does have a knack for predicting the future.

The trick, he admitted to USA Today, is understanding how rapidly things change.

“Who could have foreseen the rise of an Uber a decade ago?” Wozniak said.

The inventor is scheduled to expound on those ideas during this weekend’s Silicon Valley Comic Con (SVCC) event, “The Future of Humanity: Where Will We Be in 2075?”

Living communally in deserts and interacting regularly with artificial intelligence, according to Woz, who offered some other guesses at life in 60 years.

Convinced a colony will exist on Mars, Wozniak foresees the Red Planet’s use for heavy industry, while Earth remains zoned for residential use. Don’t get your hopes up, though, for extraterrestrial contact.

“It’s worth trying” to communicate with another race, he said. “But I don’t have high hopes.”

The three-day SVCC conference, which Woz helped create last year, boasts other famous guests like actors William Shatner and John Cusack, former astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and architect Greg Lynn. It will also serve as the stage for a 30th-anniversary cast reunion of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
