Stay on target
Attack on Titan’s already back in full swing with season 2 available for your viewing pleasure (no binging yet, unfortunately) and movies you can check out to get up to speed. It’s about time, then, that the manga gets a turn. Kodansha has announced that a special full-color edition of Attack on Titan: No Regrets will be making its way westward this June. Yeah, you read that right. More Attack on Titan manga! Rejoice!
The series, illustrated by Hikaru Suruga, is based off what was released originally as a two-part visual novel that came with limited edition copies of the third and sixth volumes of the anime series’ first season DVD and Blu-ray. It originally ran in Kodansha’s ARIA manga magazine aimed at women in 2014 from January through August and was published as a collection in April 2014. Since its inception, it’s had over 1.5 million copies printed in Japan, which is a ridiculous number for a book series.
Now the graphic novel release coming soon will take all of the original black and white pages and bring them to life in full color, with color illustrations and an additional story that wasn’t originally included in the collections to come alongside it. There are covers featuring Levi drawn by Hikaru Suruga as well, and it will run 972 yen, 509 more than the previous edition, but it’s going to look oh so sweet.
If you’re an Attack on Titan fan or just a Levi fan in general, you’ll want to make sure you snag these special editions, especially if you’re all about having all of the parts of the manga in one place. I’m going to make sure I don’t miss out, and you should too. You might want to go ahead and get your preorder on, in fact, because these might very well sell out.
