Carbon dioxide will probably the death of humanity. Not too long ago we crossed the critical 400ppm global CO2 threshold. Meaning that unless we figure out how to pull CO2 out of the atmosphere our descendants are royally screwed.
Batman: The Animated Series ran for 86 episodes from 1992-1995 and had a few minor title changes despite producing a mostly in canonical run that formed the basis of the unified DC Animated Universe. The show had a unique storytelling style, mixing noir tropes with more superhero action standbys and throwing it all into a Gotham that existed outside of time and logical space. From tragic villains like Two-Face to pure madness like The Joker, the villains around Batman and those caught in the wake of the Dark Knight often were the subject of the series most essential episodes. You might not learn much about Batman while watching these gems, but they are the most excellent examples of what Batman: The Animated Series could be.
